This piece is inspired by the young women of today—my nieces, my daughter, my students—who are growing up in a world that often tells them to find their worth through appearance, filters, and constant comparison. But I want them to see something deeper. I want them to see their true beauty—the quiet, radiant strength that lives within.
While painting this, I was reflecting on the story of Esther from the Bible—a woman who rose with courage and grace in the face of fear. Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, this work speaks to the transformation that happens when a woman begins to see herself clearly. 
Becoming "Esther Belle" is an invitation to look inward. To celebrate softness and strength. To remember that beauty is not something we chase—it’s something we carry.
